Configuring a downloader with two or more accounts at different priority levels: an unlimited subscription as priority zero and a block account on an unrelated backbone below it. Articles missing from the first server are requested from the second, so the block is consumed only on failures. The arrangement helps only when the servers sit on genuinely separate backbones.
