RFC 1855

Also known as: Netiquette Guidelines

Netiquette Guidelines, published in October 1995 as an informational document with no protocol force, collecting the conventions of mail, news, and other services in one place. Its news section covers trimming quotes, staying on topic, reading a group's FAQ, and marking personal opinion as such. Largely a snapshot of practice before the web took over, but still cited when netiquette questions arise.
