A cancel message issued against a spam article by someone other than its author, historically the main cleanup mechanism once a post exceeded the Breidbart Index threshold of twenty. Issuers published their criteria and logs so their actions could be audited. Because cancels are trivially forged, the practice stayed contentious and declined; most servers now discard third-party cancels and rely on filters such as Cleanfeed.
