Sporgery

Also known as: spam forgery

Spam forged to appear as though innocent third parties posted it, the name combining spamming and forgery. Large campaigns flooded targeted groups with thousands of articles carrying the real addresses of group regulars, redirecting the resulting complaints onto the victims. It made cancel-based cleanup dangerous, since deciding what to cancel meant deciding whose name was genuine, and it helped motivate cancel-lock and NoCeM.
